Delayed blessings . . .

Well, things have been busy at school this week so I haven't had the opportunity to stamp (yet) so I decided to post this one I came along during some cleaning over the weekend. I made about 12 of these to send to my friends from the Chatter group over on SCS that attended our gathering in Salt Lake City last October. They were quite belated (I don't think they were mailed until after Thanksgiving!) but I hope everyone still enjoyed them. I know I had so much fun meeting all of them and our chats are so much more meanigful now that we know each other a little better. I used the now retired stamp set Stem Silhouettes by SU! I thought it would look really nice with this color scheme. Anyway, I hope to stamp tomorrow or over the weekend, so check back for something new soon!

Froggie love . . .

Isn't he cute! I made this card for Beate's weekend sketch challenge *and* her current Be Inspired challenge. Thanks for making me pull out this little guy, Beate!!! I sometimes "froget" he is hanging around here - lol! I decided to use Wild Wasabi, Real Red, and Soft Sky for my color scheme which I pulled from the gift card Beate posted. I also rounded most of the corners to coordinate with the gift card. I added some black accents in the ribbon and brads and some glitz over the hearts with clear Stickles. It is pretty simple, but cute I think! It also got me in the swing of making Valentine's Day projects, so stay tuned for some more of those in the not-too-distant future here at Inkfully Yours! *wink*

Colorful Solitude . . .

Whoo hoo! I got a chance to stamp yesterday and I really needed it! Things have been *a little* hectic at school recently and it was nice to have an opportunity to unwind. On a positive note, last week I lost 5 lbs. on the road to more (hopefully) for my school's Biggest Loser contest, so that is encouraging! I am walking a mile every day after school, with my DD in tow! She has been a real sport about it!!! Back to the card though - that *is* why you're here, isn't it??? LOL! I incorporated both the color and cketch challenges for this week from SCS on this one. I chose to use the new Level 2 hostess set, Spring Solitude. What's neat about this is that it is a stamp set and a wheel, which I used to make the background. Colors are Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, and Real Red. Sorry about the poor lighting, but I was too anxious to snap a pic last night and of course it was already dark! Have a great weekend, and don't forget to come back soon for more!!! *wink*

Timeless love . . .

I *heart* stamps! Like you didn't know that already - lol! Well, while I am mostly a SU! kinda girl (I *am* a demo after all, if only to feed my addiction) I have begun to add some other stamp companies to my list of favorites. For example, I am a Guest Designer for Starving Artistamps. And you all know how much I love PaperTrey Ink!!! More recently I have become infatuated with My Favorite Things. I had the opportunity to meet owner Kim Van der Sanden around Thanksgiving at a SCS get-together in our area. She is such a sweetie, btw! I have been meaning to place an order from her webstore ever since, but the latest batch of releases really sent me over the edge and I could wait no more!!! This card is made using one of my new MFT sets, Boho Blossoms. I just love the swirly, girly details of the images! And what better way to break in my new MFT stamps than to participate in a MFT challenge over at Splitcoaststampers??? I am really pleased with the results, and now I have an elegant valentine for my DH! Stay tuned for something a little more whimsical featuring My Favorite Things images soon! Until next time I'm, as always, Inkfully Yours ...

{Life . . .

Don'tcha just love holidays??? It was soooo nice to have today off of school! I decided to do a little stamping since it had been awhile. I had an idea earlier in the week to incorporate with Beate's weekly sketch challenge. I have been wanting to try out some more of my new new SU! goodies. I reached for my East Coast Prep designer series paper and Make It Count, a Level 1 hostess set. I knew I also wanted to use some of my build-a-brads for the circles on the strip. Colors used are Real Red, Wild Wasabi, More Mustard, and Tempting Turquoise. I also used my Stamp of Authenticity set for the main image. Lots of punches here too: 1/2", 1", and 1 1/4" circles, as well as the key tag punch for the sentiment and the horizontal slot punch for where the ribbon ties through. Not my traditional style, but I must admit I like it!!! I have been working on swap cards also this weekend, and not that those are out of the way I hope to have something else to share with you soon! Pop on over for a visit before too long, okay? *wink*

Fabulous colors . . .

Here I am again, are you as shocked as I am??? I am really happy that I have been able to find some time to stamp lately!!! *giddies* This card is for this week's color and sketch challenges over at Splitcoaststampers. As I was mulling over these colors in my head, I decided I should make something fun and bright. I found myself reaching for this stamp set, Fabulous Flowers. My friend Kelly was borrowing it, so I haven't played with it for awhile. I immediately knew I would stamp the large blossom in Apricot Appeal and use Rose Red ink for the rock-n-roll technique. Gorgeous, if I do say so myself! To tie in the the Sage Shadow I colored in the open part of the sentiment. Next I reached for my Bali Breeze designer series paper and black gingham ribbon as a finishing touch and viola! I am quite pleased with the results . . . *wink* I am planning to stamp a bit more tomorrow, so make sure you stop on by and take a peek!

Boho Fleur . . .

Here is another card featuring some of my new Stampin' UP! goodies. I am so loving this Boho stuff - it's fabulous!!! Pink and brown are my favorite colors together, and I am a sucker for flowers so it couldn't be more peftect!!! I used the One of a Kind stamp set for this card. I stamped the cocoa backround all over with the triple flower stamp. It coordinates with the new Boho Blossoms punch, which I didn't use here but will be a fabulous time saver instead of cutting these little babies out on future projects. I also used a build-a-brad for the first time on this card. I punched out a design from the Berry Bliss designer series paper with my 1/2" circle punch for the center. It gives that large flower just the right finishing touch! Well, I am hoping to stamp some more in the coming days. Check back soon for more eye candy!!! *wink*

Inspired . . .

As I was nosing around some of my favorite blogs this evening, I stumbled upon something new over at Beate's blog (fresh & fun). It is called the Be Inspired Challenge, and this post was her first BIC ever! It seemed simple enough, and I had just received my Sale-a-bration preorder in the mail today . . . What can I say? I was inspired - lol! So I pulled out my Bali Breeze designer series paper and my two new sets, Lots of Thoughts and So Many Scallops. Quick and easy, this is the result . . . I think I like it! Thanks for the inspiration, Beate!!! So what are you waiting for??? Head on over to fresh & fun and be inspired! *wink*

Bali Birdie . . .

Well, yesterday was my test. I think it went okay . . . *knocks wood* I'll find out in a month! Anyway, with that out of the way I was able to find a bit of time to play today with my new SU! goodies that arrived Friday. Everything is fabulous, of course! This card features several new (and new to me!) items. The bird and sentiment (down in the lower right corner, can you make it out?) are from my favorite stamp set in the Spring/Summer Collection, Always. I also used the new Bali Breeze designer series paper. The print on the olive cs is the Tres Chic background, which is not new but it is new to me! And last but not least, the fabulous felt flowers - can you say yummy??? I am looking forward to playing more with my new stuff. I will have something else to share soon, so check back . . . *wink*

A beautiful thing . . .

Well, here is the final card I made last weekend using my preordered stamps from SU! I wanted to go with a softer, more subtle look on this card. Again, I went for more of a clean and simple look, with a teensy bit of distressing on the celery panel. My friend Lisa didn't think it really fit in with the rest of the card however. She asked me if I had intentionally done that, and was genuinely surprised when I said yes - LOL! That just goes to show you how we all have different tastes, which in my opinion makes life far more interesting!!! This card features the set A Beautiful Life and I am continually thankful for the family and friends who make my life a beautiful thing. {{{hugs}}} and love to all of you who are reading this! Pass it on, ok? I'll be back with something new soon. After all, my first order from the SU! Spring/Summer collection arrives tomorrow . . . *wink*

Embrace the challenge . . .

I cannot believe it, but I actually stamped a card for this week's color challenge over at SCS! It has been months since I have had the time to do that, but last night I was inspired to step away from everything else on my to-do list for just a bit . . . this is the result. The colors specified were Blue Bayou, Barely Banana, and Wild Wasabi. I reached for my favorite stamp set of the moment, Embrace Life and decided to make a tri-paneled main image. I wanted to used all of the images in this set together on one card. I love the soft look and I must say that these colors work well together. And, I think the lighting is an improvement over the last two, don't you? Anway, I will be back tomorrow with another of the cards I made at our girls stamp night. See you then! *wink*

Simply Spring . . .

Well, as promised, here is card number two from our girls stamp night last weekend. It features one of the new Level 2 hostess sets from the SU! Spring/Summer Collection - Spring Solitude. What is great about this set is that is includes both a stamp set and a wheel. Although I didn't use the wheel on this card, I am looking forward to using it on some other projects! I kept this pretty simple, with nice clean lines and bright colors. I used a strip of the fabulous new Bali Breeze designer series paper and pulled the colors from there. Throw in a few black accents, a cutout flower complete with bling center, and some narrow grosgrain ribbon and . . . voila! I'll have another creation to share with you here in a day or two, so be sure to check back then! Also, my first order from the new SU! catty is on the way - yippee!!! I am hoping to decompress with my new toys after my exam this weekend. Wish me luck! ;)

*gasp* I stamped!!!

Yes, it's true! I actually stamped!!! My friend Kelly invited me over for a stamping night with our friend, Lisa. *waves* Hi girls!!! While they worked on some Christmas thank you's (which I totally need to get done too!) I stamped with some of the goodies I had preordered from Stampin UP!'s new Spring/Summer Collection and had yet to try out. I made three cute cards, and one with the new Punny Valentine set by PaperTrey Ink too! I will share this one with you today, made with the gorgeous Embrace Life stamp set and Ginger Blossom designer series paper. I was inspired by Debbie Olsen's fabulous card, which you can view here. I just love her work!!! I also got to play with another new toy for the very first time - Nestabilities!!! Wow, are they ever awesome! My friend and I are splitting the full sets of several shapes and the circles were up first. Fun, fun, fun! I will share the others with you during the week, so stay tuned!!! eta: sorry about the poor lighting on the picture. Even though I took it outside during daylight, I seem to keep getting shadows out on our porch. I will try the front next time, hopefully with better results . . .
