I made this card yesterday for the Ways To Use It challenge over at SCS. I was in need of some inspiration yesterday, so I thought I'd give it a try! ;) The challenge was to use fabric on your card. While I didn't actually use fabric, this patterned paper from the new Basic Grey Stella Ruby line reminds me of a beautiful tapestry. I also used some yummy chocolate ricrak, and it always reminds me of sewing! So, I hope this qualifies for the challenge, because it certainly did inspire me to create something a little out of my element! This is also a criss-cross pocket card, which I have been wanting to try for a few weeks since it was the Technique Lovers Challenge awhile back. I started with a True Thyme card base, and cut two triangle shapes for the front from the Stella Ruby paper. I adhered the ricrak along the edges of the pocket and added a giant Prima flower with three gold brads in the center. For the insert I used chocolate and vanilla cs. I stamped the Penny Black sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink and framed it with two strip of the patterned paper. At the bottom I added three small Prima flowers from the Sweet & Sassy Attitudes collection with gold brads as the centers. Then I punched the top with my horizontal slot punch and added a tie of thyme stitched ribbon. I really hope the recipient likes the unique style of this card!
